SCHNEIDER VOTES FOR BIPARTISAN PLAN TO EXPAND ACCESS TO HOUSING AND LOWER COSTS
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement following the House passage of the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. The bill now heads to the President’s desk for signature.
“A hallmark of the American Dream is the opportunity to own a home,” said Schneider. “With housing costs skyrocketing across the country, it has never been more important to ensure that this dream remains within reach for millions of hardworking families.
“Tonight, I was proud to help pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act — an important step toward addressing the housing crisis. This legislation will increase housing supply, drive down costs, and prevent Wall Street from buying up homes in our communities, expanding homeownership opportunities for families nationwide.
“Becoming a homeowner is about more than having a roof over your head — it bridges the divide to future opportunities,” Schneider continued. “Owning a home allows individuals to deepen roots within their community, strengthens local economies, and creates generational stability.
“I will keep working with my colleagues to advance commonsense housing solutions and ensure more Americans have a safe, affordable home to call their own.”
