Schneider Collects More Than 650 ‘Holiday Cards for Heroes’
DEERFIELD, Ill. – Congressman Brad Schneider today announced that his office collected more than 650 holiday cards to distribute to military servicemembers.
"The men and women who serve our nation deserve to hear a thank you throughout the year, not just on Veterans Day. Many of the brave men and women in our armed forces are spending this holiday season far from family and home, and a handwritten card is a much-appreciated way to share holiday cheer. I'm glad our office can help facilitate this program to connect constituents and service members," Schneider said.
This is Schneider's fifth year hosting the Holiday Cards for Heroes Program. Local schoolchildren, libraries, and Tenth District constituents created and dropped off 659 cards in 2021, nearly doubling the amount from 2020.
Constituent service representatives in Schneider's office are available to help Tenth District residents with issues involving the federal government. His team has worked with area veterans to expedite medical appointments, process benefit claims with the VA, secure medals and honors that were earned but never received, and more.
