Statement on Charlottesville

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the below statement:

"The bigotry, racism and violence present in Charlottesville do not represent our American values. This hatred must be condemned.

"It is important we call this despicable attack what it was - an act of domestic terrorism. In the face of this senseless violence, we must stand united as a country that embraces its diversity. Those seeking to sow division and fear will fail because there is far more that unites us as Americans than divides us. I am thinking today of the friends and families of the victims and praying for a swift recovery for those injured."
