Statement on Two-State Solution

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement regarding the two-state solution:

"As has long been the position of the United States under both Democratic and Republican administrations, support for a negotiated two-state solution is the best and the only way to ensure Israel's security and continuity as a Jewish, democratic state. By casually and flippantly suggesting the United States may pursue a two-state, one-state, or some other path to ending this conflict, President Trump makes the pursuit of a solution more difficult, and ultimately puts the long-term security of Israel at risk.

"I am, and always will be absolutely committed to the security of the Jewish state of Israel and a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and I will continue to advocate for a two-state solution as the best way forward."
