I hope everyone had a happy and restful Thanksgiving filled with family and friends. As Congress returns to work this week, much remains to be done before the end of the year, including funding the government beyond December 8, approving spending levels for 2018, reauthorizing the expired Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and at last passing the DREAM Act.

As the year winds down, I want to let you know that we're planning three more Congress On Your Corner events in December, including this Saturday in Gurnee. Please read on for an invitation as well as information on a Medicare Open Enrollment event for Tenth District seniors.

TELL ME HOW WILL TAX REFORM AFFECT YOU

Earlier this month the House of Representatives passed a tax reform bill, and the Senate is now considering companion legislation. I voted against this bill because I fear it will raise taxes on my constituents, hurt our local communities, and irresponsibly explode our national debt.

I want to hear how the tax bill will affect you. Take a moment, and share your thoughts using our 7 question survey.
