WASHINGTON— Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) wrote “Support for Israel in Congress is Steadfast” in the Chicago Tribune. The op-ed describes the war in Israel, reiterates Israel’s right to defend itself, and details Schneider’s work to condemn violence and support civilians as a Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “I remain committed to that idea, just as I remain committed to maintaining bipartisan support for Israel in Congress. With several colleagues, I helped introduce a bipartisan resolution in the House (gaining 423 co-signers) condemning this attack and underscoring our deep commitment to Israel. I am leading bipartisan legislation to provide Israel with additional security assistance to support its military in this challenging time. I am pushing to create a humanitarian corridor for safe passage for Palestinian civilians, especially women, children and the elderly. […]

“It is Hamas that attacked Israel and Hamas that started this war. Israel, with the support of the United States and other democracies such as Germany, the United Kingdom, France and Italy, will make sure Hamas does not win.”
