Photo Release: Schneider Highlights American Jobs, Sustainability at Lincolnshire Manufacturing Plant
LINCOLNSHIRE — Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) Monday highlighted American jobs and sustainability during a visit to Novelis, a Lincolnshire-based aluminum manufacturing plant. Novelis is the world's leading producer of rolled aluminum products and the world's largest recycler of aluminum, helping to promote sustainable manufacturing through its recycling efforts.
"Thanks to companies like Novelis, innovation is alive and well in the Tenth District. As an aluminum roller and recycler, Novelis leads the way creating good-paying jobs in Lake County. In Congress, I'm working on bipartisan legislation to invest in creating more domestic manufacturing like Novelis and fix our supply long supply chains while investing in more good-paying American jobs," Schneider said.
During the visit, Schneider toured the Novelis plant and then took questions from Novelis manufacturing workers, including Plant Manager Blake Hunter.

Congress passed the America COMPETES Act in February and is now headed to conference with the Senate. The COMPETES Act will help tackle inflation, supply chain and competitiveness issues weighing on American families and will set the United States up for long-term economic success. It will fund critical investments to make critically-needed semiconductors in America, fix the supply chain and strengthen American manufacturing, fund increased domestic manufacturing, turbocharge American research and innovation and strengthen American global economic diplomacy.
