Rep. Schneider Announces Community Project Funding Requests
LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill. – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced his Community Project Funding (CPF) submissions to the House Appropriations Committee. The Committee is considering fifteen requests per office as part of the 2024 federal appropriations legislation. Congressman Schneider’s submissions recommend local projects needing funding to the Committee, which will scrutinize projects before determining whether to include the projects in funding legislation. After passage through Committee, the legislation must be approved by the House and the Senate and signed by the President.
Community Project Funding (CPF) is an initiative that allows Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. The initiative, first enacted in 2021, entails stringent eligibility, ethics, and transparency guardrails and is only available to state, local, tribal, territorial governments, and some non-profits. You can find the required financial disclosures here. You can find projects funded by Rep. Schneider’s requests last year here.
“The projects submitted represent more than a set of ideas; they are opportunities waiting to be made possible for our communities. Funding for these requests would positively impact economic growth, water quality, mobility, infrastructure, and social services. With my full backing, I am proud to submit these projects to the House Appropriations Committee; funding any of them will significantly benefit my constituents.,” said Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10).
