Reps. Schneider, Crow Introduce Resolution Supporting National Veterans Small Business Week

November 1, 2022

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) and Jason Crow (CO-06) led 20 original cosponsors in introducing a bipartisan resolution supporting the goals and ideals of “National Veterans Small Business Week,” celebrating the business contributions made by our nation’s veterans.

“The
contributions that veterans make to the strength and success of our nation extends beyond their service in our armed forces to the many valuable skills and entrepreneurial ideas they bring to the table,” said Congressman Schneider. “Recognizing and promoting veterans’ success in entrepreneurship is key to helping our communities grow and flourish economically. I thank my colleague, Rep. Jason Crow, for joining me in working to honor and improve opportunities for veterans nationwide.”

“My district is home to over 70,000 veterans who help power our local economy. I’m proud to join my colleagues in recognizing National Veterans Small Business Week as we ensure our veterans have the skills and resources they need to build thriving businesses in our community,” said Congressman Crow.

National Veterans Small Business Week
falls on October 31st through November 4th this year and serves as an opportunity for the Small Business Administration (SBA) to celebrate veteran-owned businesses and host events for veteran entrepreneurs. According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2019 Annual Business Survey, 5.9% of all businesses in the United States are owned by veterans, and they employ approximately 3.9 million people.
