Schneider Announces $104 Million for Illinois Water Infrastructure
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Delivers for Lake Michigan, Stormwater, Wastewater Infrastructure
HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. – Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) is proud to share that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has allocated more than $104 million for Illinois through this year’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The funding will support Illinois communities in upgrading essential water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure that protects public health and treasured water bodies. Nearly half of this funding will be available as grants or principal forgiveness loans helping underserved communities across Illinois invest in water infrastructure, while creating good-paying jobs.
Congressman Brad Schneider said, “Clean water is at the heart of Illinois’ north shore. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we’re getting help to keep our water clean and our streets free of stormwater: today, we’re celebrating that $104 million is coming to Illinois through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund and the EPA. These funds will support good-paying jobs in our communities and are a testament to the success of bipartisan legislating.”
The CWSRFs have been the foundation of water infrastructure investments for more than 30 years, providing low-cost financing for local projects across America.
