Schneider Brings Home Over $389 Million in Rescue Payments to Illinois Residents
Schneider helped secure rescue payments as part of the American Rescue Plan
DEERFIELD – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced that Illinois residents have received $389,928,924 in rescue payments in 2021, which Schneider helped secure as part of the American Rescue Plan.
“Just a few months ago, we never could have imagined that our country would rebuild from the pandemic this quickly. Thanks to the economic impact payments provided by the American Rescue Plan, Illinois residents are safely going back to work, Tenth District small businesses are reopening and our economy is steadily growing stronger. I am proud to have helped pass the American Rescue Plan, which was the bold response our country needed to start beating back COVID-19,” said Schneider.
Under the American Rescue Plan, more than 150 million Americans have been fully vaccinated. Monthly Child Tax Credit Payments of up to $300 per child will start hitting banks accounts July 15th for roughly 39 million households across the country, covering almost 90 percent of children nationwide. The American Rescue Plan invested $130 billion to help schools reopen safely, stay open safely and make up for lost learning time. The American Rescue Plan also sent $45 billion to help states keep child care and Head Start programs open, keep workers on the job, and lower costs for working families.
