Schneider Co-Sponsors Legislation to Restore Net Neutrality
Save the Internet Act would prevent blocking, throttling and paid prioritization
Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced he is co-sponsoring legislation to restore the open internet order Federal Communications Commission (FCC) protecting net neutrality.
H.R. 1644, the Save the Internet Act, codifies the principles of an open internet, including no blocking, no throttling, and no paid prioritization.
"It's vital the Internet remain open, accessible, and uncensored for all," said Schneider. "This legislation is an important first step to restore net neutrality principles and prevent discriminatory treatment of web traffic. An open internet is too important to our economy and society to allow regulations to see-saw back and forth with each new Administration. I hope we will continue to build on this progress with lasting legislation to make Net Neutrality the law of the land."
