SCHNEIDER NOMINATES 15 LOCAL PROJECTS FOR $55 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDING
Highland Park, IL -- Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced his Community Project Funding (CPF) submissions to the House Appropriations Committee. The selected projects are from all three counties that encompass the 10th district -- Cook, Lake and McHenry counties. Since the enactment of the CPF process in 2021, Schneider has secured more than $50 million for community projects in IL-10
“One of my most important jobs in Congress is to support important, high-impact local projects that help keep our community safe, prosperous and thriving,” said Schneider. “This year, I’m proud to nominate fifteen projects that touch all corners of the 10th district and will create jobs, repair aging infrastructure, improve public safety and protect our environment. I am proud to submit these projects with my full backing to the House Appropriations Committee; all are worthy and funding any of them will significantly benefit our community.”
The House Appropriations Committee will carefully review all projects before determining whether to include them in the final funding legislation. After Committee approval, the legislation must then be voted on by the House and the Senate and signed into law by the President.
Community Project Funding (CPF) is a process that allows Members of Congress to request federal funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. The initiative, first enacted in 2021, entails stringent eligibility, ethics and transparency guardrails and is only available to state, local, tribal, territorial governments and some non-profits. You can find projects funded by Rep. Schneider’s requests last year here.
