SCHNEIDER REAPPOINTED TO HOUSE FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
WASHINGTON – Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) today was reappointed to a fifth term on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. In addition to the Foreign Affairs Committee, Schneider is also a member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
Schneider released the following statement on his reappointment to the Foreign Affairs Committee:
“I am deeply honored to again be selected to serve on the Foreign Affairs Committee. At a moment when President Trump is taking a sledgehammer to America’s alliances and Elon Musk is steamrolling America’s soft power, we need strong, experienced foreign policy leaders who will stand up to and call out the Administration when it threatens our national security and interests across the globe. I look forward to bringing my experience and voice to the Committee.
“I also am eager to continue my work seeking security, stability and peace in the Middle East, building on the Abraham Accords to strengthen regional cooperation and deter threats from Iran and its proxies. American leadership is indispensable in upholding global security, defending democracy, and supporting our allies—including Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. At a time of unprecedented geopolitical challenges with chaotic and impulsive leadership in the White House, we must remain steadfast in our commitments and strategic in our engagement.
“Thank you to Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Steering and Policy Committee for enabling me to again serve on both the Foreign Affairs and Ways and Means Committees. I also want to thank Ranking Member Greg Meeks for welcoming me back onto his committee. I am ready to get to work to promote smart American foreign policy, bolster our alliances, and advance U.S. leadership on the world stage.”
