Schneider Statement on GOP Extreme Abortion Ban Bill

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10), Vice-Chair for Communications of the New Democrat Coalition, released the following statement:

“In the House, Republicans today advanced their extreme agenda to control women and ban abortion nationwide. Women deserve freedom over their health care choices. They deserve the best possible care in consultation with their doctor, with their families and without government interference. They do not deserve today’s Republican attacks on their bodies.  

“In their first week, Republican priorities are the priorities of their most extreme members. They have hiked the deficit to the sole benefit of tax cheats. They have enabled Jim Jordan to undermine American law and order. And now they are doubling down on their disgusting attempts to criminalize abortion with no exceptions.”
