Schneider Statement on the World Central Kitchen Workers Killed in Gaza by Israeli Strike

April 2, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC – Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL) released the following statement on the seven World Central Kitchen aid workers, including an American, who were killed by an Israeli strike in Gaza:

"I extend my condolences to the families and friends of the seven World Central Kitchen aid workers that were tragically killed in an air strike in Gaza, including an American. Humanitarian aid workers risk their lives in conflicts across the world every day to help civilians in need. May their memory be a blessing.

“I look forward to the results of Israel’s announced investigation and stress that it must be comprehensive and transparent, and that those responsible for this failure must be held to account.

“The plight of the more than 130 remaining hostages held by Hamas, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, demand that the U.S., Egypt and Qatar double down on their efforts to bring a pause to this war, bring the hostages home, and bring relief to civilians caught in the middle of this war. Israel has continued to accept terms of such a pause. It’s time for Hamas to do the same."
