Statement on Attorney General Sessions

March 2, 2017

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement:

"From the start, Attorney General Sessions should have recused himself from any investigation into connections between the Trump campaign and Russia, but he refused. New revelations that Sessions misled the Senate under oath about two meetings with the Russian Ambassador during the campaign erase what little credibility remained. These allegations, if accurate, are disqualifying, and should compel Attorney General Sessions to resign his position.

"The American people deserve to know the facts, and these developments only underscore the need for an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate Russian interference in our election."
