Tenth District Constituents Send Holiday Cards to Military Servicemembers with Help from Congressman Schneider
This week, U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (IL-10) delivered cards and letters collected from Tenth District residents to be distributed to members of the U.S. armed forces serving overseas this holiday season.
As part of his “Holiday Cards for Heroes Program,” Rep. Schneider’s office collected more than 200 cards and letters this month from constituents. Several area elementary and high school classes participated.
“The holidays are a special time for families and friends to gather together, but many of our brave men and women in our armed forces must spend this season far from family and home,” said Schneider. “A personal, handwritten card is a much-appreciated way to say thank you to the Americans serving our country, offer words of encouragement, and share holiday cheer. I’m glad our office could help facilitate this program to connect constituents and our service members.”
The cards will be distributed with assistance from USO.
