Rep. Schneider Visits Affected Communities to Offer Support After Severe Flooding
Schneider and other members of Illinois Congressional Delegation visited Fox Lake, Libertyville, and Gurnee
This weekend, Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) visited flood-affected communities in Illinois's Tenth Congressional District to meet with the local leaders of the emergency response effort and offer his support for the clean-up efforts underway.
He was joined on the visit Saturday by U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, Rep. Randy Hultgren (IL-14), Lake County Chairman Aaron Lawlor, and other local leaders. The group received a briefing, conducted by Chairman Lawlor at Rep. Schneider's request, at the Lake County Emergency Operations Center in Libertyville on the extent of the flooding, actions underway to mitigate further damage, and efforts to clean-up and recover. The officials also observed the extent of the Des Plaines river overflowing its banks in Gurnee. Earlier in the day, Reps. Schneider and Hultgren toured flooding in Fox Lake with Mayor Donny Schmit.
