Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) released the following statement in response to the executive order signed by President Trump:
"Today's executive order is a disgraceful and callous attempt to ban members of one religion by instituting a de facto religious test for entry. This discriminatory order does nothing to target the root causes of terrorism, does not make our country safer, and undermines the very values that define our nation.

"Today, Donald Trump was inaugurated as our 45th President. Despite my deep disagreements with his agenda and campaign, I attended the inauguration out of respect for the office and a responsibility to witness the peaceful transition of power.
Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) completed his first tour of health care providers, hospitals, advocacy organizations, and other stakeholders throughout the Tenth District to hear concerns over the Republican plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
Yesterday, Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) spoke on the House floor in support of H.Res. 11, Objecting to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334 as an obstacle to Israeli-Palestinian peace.
Schneider is an original cosponsor of the legislation, which passed the House in a vote of 342 – 80.
