Last week, I introduced the “Congressional Leadership in Mitigating Administration Threats to the Earth” or CLIMATE Act, (H.R. 1812). This bill would declare President Trump’s recent anti-environment executive order null and void and prohibit federal funds from implementing, administering, or enforcing the order.

The Republican proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act would have been a disastrous step backwards for our health care system -- leaving 24 million more Americans without health insurance, increasing premiums for working families and seniors, and cutting back on essential health benefits. Had it come to the floor, I would have voted no.

The death of a child is a loss like no other, yet current law leaves no time for employees to grieve and begin the recovery process. Last week, I was proud to join Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and a bipartisan group of members to introduce the Sarah Grace-Farley-Kluger Act. This legislation would amend the Family and Medical Leave Act to permit employees to take the unpaid time off they need to care for their families and heal following such a tragic loss.
