Schneider helped secure rescue payments as part of the American Rescue Plan

DEERFIELD – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced that Illinois residents have received $389,928,924 in rescue payments in 2021, which Schneider helped secure as part of the American Rescue Plan.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) helped pass the Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America (INVEST in America) Act. The INVEST in America Act funds significant surface transportation needs across the country. Of specific significance for the Tenth District of Illinois, Rep. Schneider secured support for all five community project funding requests submitted earlier this year.

Markey (D-Mass.) and Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) reintroduced the 3D Printed Gun Safety Act, legislation to prohibit the online distribution of blueprints and instructions that allow for the three dimensional (3D) printing of firearms.

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (IL-10) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) introduced legislation to extend clear and consistent non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ people in housing.

The Fair and Equal Housing Act of 2021 would include "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" as protected characteristics under the Fair Housing Act which currently mandates non-discrimination for housing on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, familial status, or disability.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today launched the annual Tenth District Congressional App Challenge. The Congressional App Challenge encourages students to code their own app for any digital device by using their science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills.

The deadline to register and submit an app is November 1, 2021.

WASHINGTON— Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced the introduction of the Sensible, Timely Relief for America's Nuclear Districts' Economic Development (STRANDED) Act.

This legislation would provide funding to communities like Zion, IL that currently house spent nuclear fuel, as well as assistance for communities facing the recent closure of a nuclear power plant. The STRANDED Act would also provide tax incentives to promote homeownership as well as fund research on how to spur development in these communities.
