WASHINGTON — Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) – member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) – released the following statement in response to the White House's release of a previously classified intelligence report on the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi:

"The report released today starkly states what we've long suspected: the brutal murder of journalist and American resident Jamal Khashoggi was approved at the highest levels of the Saudi leadership— specifically naming Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) received a 100% score from the League of Conservation Voters' 2020 National Environmental Scorecard, based on 21 key congressional votes from the past calendar year to help keep our air and water clean, promote the creation of good-paying clean energy jobs, combat increasing pollution and emissions, improving our transportation and infrastructure, and protecting wildlife and open spaces.

WASHINGTON – Congressman Brad Schneider encourages Tenth District students to participate in the annual Congressional Art Competition, which is being held virtually this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The theme for this year's contest is "Unity."

Area high school students are invited to submit a piece of art they have created in the past year, which will be judged by a panel of local educators and artists. Students are encouraged to interpret the theme of "Unity" creatively and submit artwork that reflects their personal interpretation.

NORTH CHICAGO, IL – Monday, Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) visited the new vaccine distribution site at the Lake County Forest Preserve's Greenbelt Cultural Center in North Chicago. Schneider reviewed vaccine distribution logistics, talked to those receiving the vaccine, and will return to Washington armed with feedback from those running the location.

WASHINGTON – Today, Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) capped a two-day markup by voting for Covid relief legislation that will become part of President Biden's American Rescue Plan. The Ways and Means Committee is responsible for directing nearly half of the $1.9 trillion package, including the parameters of the $1400 direct payments, extended unemployment insurance, the $3000 refundable child tax credit, assistance for nursing homes, resources to make child care more affordable for working families, and strengthening the Affordable Care Act.
