On Monday, October 7, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) will host a public information session in Waukegan for families and students on the college financial aid process.

This event is hosted in partnership with State Rep. Rita Mayfield (IL-60) and will include a presentation by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission.

Today, U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (IL-10) issued the following statement in response to a new letter from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) outlining their intended rulemaking on emissions of ethylene oxide (EtO), a known carcinogen. The letter states the EPA intends to announce their proposed rule in October, at which point it will be available for public comment.

This week, U.S. Representatives Norma J. Torres (D-CA), Eliot L. Engel (D-NY), and Bradley S. Schneider (D-IL) reintroduced the Multiple Firearm Sales Reporting Modernization Act to require federal firearms licensees to report the sale of two or more long guns, including semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15 and the AK-47, within a five-day period. The bill's reintroduction comes a month after the mass shootings in El Paso, TX, Dayton, OH, and Gilroy, CA.

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) called on the National Rifle Association of America (NRA) to allow its longtime public relations firm, Ackerman McQueen, to turn over documentation needed to determine if the organization's tax-exempt status should be revoked in light of serious allegations of self-dealing and other wrongdoing.

In a new letter to Ackerman McQueen, the NRA requested the firm adhere to its "contractual duties" and not produce any documents to Congress "without the NRA's express written consent."

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL) released the following statement calling for the opening of an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump:

"After months of relentless stonewalling by the Trump administration, I believe it is necessary to elevate the various Congressional investigations of the President to a formal impeachment inquiry as the only way to ensure the American people have a comprehensive understanding of the facts uncovered by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation and hold the President accountable for his actions.
