WASHINGTON– Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 7608, Minibus appropriations including spending bills for State-Foreign Operations, Agriculture-Rural Development-FDA, Interior-Environment, and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs. Several of Congressman Brad Schneider's priorities for Illinois were included in the package to be funded, including for FDA oversight over our medical device supply chain, for stronger ethylene oxide (EtO) monitoring, and for the Great Lakes Restoration initiative.

WASHINGTON– Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021, by a vote of 295-125. Two amendments authored by Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) to codify Boots to Business (LINK) and investigate domestic terror and extremism in the military (LINK) were included in the legislation.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced that the launch of the 2020 Congressional App Challenge in Illinois Tenth District. The Congressional App Challenge is an annual nationwide competition that encourages students to learn and use science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills by coding their own application or "app" for any digital device.

The winning teams will have their application displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C and featured on Congressman Schneider's website.

WASHINGTON –Today Reps. Brad Schneider (D-IL) and Ted Yoho (R-FL) re-introduced the GI Internship Program Act, legislation that would create an internship option for Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.

The new program would allow veterans to receive their Post-9/11 GI Bill benefit as a stipend to complete a career transition internship with a qualifying business. The bill requires special consideration be paid to sectors most affected by the economy's growing skills gap, such as manufacturing and small business.

Today, Congressman Schneider voted for the Moving Forward Act, a transformative infrastructure bill to rebuild American roads, bridges, schools, and more. The bill included significant provisions in the fight against climate change, including Schneider's Greener Transportation for Communities Act and Waste Heat to Power Investment Tax Credit Act. The House passed the Moving Forward Act Wednesday evening by a vote of 233-188.
