WASHINGTON —Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10), and members of the Abraham Accords Caucus in the House and Senate today introduced legislation to unite Middle East partners as global threats from Iran and Iranian backed-extremists continue to rise. The bipartisan, bicameral Deterring Enemy Forces and Enabling National Defenses (DEFEND) Act is a joint effort by Congress to develop a strategy for Abraham Accords and other countries to combat Iranian aggression threatening peace and security in the Middle East.

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. — Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) today announced his Community Project Funding (CPF) submissions to the House Appropriations Committee. The Committee is considering fifteen requests per office as part of the 2023 federal appropriations legislation. Congressman Schneider's submissions recommend local projects in need of funding to the Committee, which will scrutinize projects before determining whether or not to include the projects in funding legislation.

WASHINGTON — Today, Representatives Norma J. Torres (CA-35) and Brad Schneider (IL-10) reintroduced the Multiple Firearm Sales Reporting Modernization Act of 2022. The legislation requires all federal firearms licensees to report the sale of two or more long guns, including semi-automatic rifles such as AR-15 and AK-47, within a 5-day period.

WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 350, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act (DTPA). Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) introduced the bipartisan bill in January 2021. A Senate companion bill is led by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL).

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) called for the House to immediately take up the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act for a vote. Introduced by Schneider in January 2021, the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act (DTPA) is a bipartisan bill designed to combat the growing threat of domestic violent extremist groups and individuals (DVEs), including racially/ethnically motivated violent extremists and white supremacist groups.
