U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL) and Susan W. Brooks (R-IN) introduced a bipartisan bill that works to combat the opioid crisis that is sweeping through the country. H.R.5581, the Abuse Deterrent and Prescriber Training (ADAPT) Act of 2018 ensures opioid prescribers have the education necessary to safely prescribe opioid medications to patients.

On Tuesday, May 1, Congressman Brad Schneider and officials from the U.S. Department of Education will host a public overview of the FAFSA and Federal Student Aid at the Round Lake High School Main Gym.

Federal Student Aid, administered through the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of student financial aid in the nation. Annually, the office provides more than $120 billion in federal grants, loans, and work-study funds each year to more than 13 million students paying for college or career school.

"The United States and the international community have a moral responsibility to condemn and hold to account Bashar al-Assad's use of chemical weapons.

"Tonight's military strikes undertaken with European allies can only be effective if part of a comprehensive strategy, long overdue, to hold the Assad regime accountable, and bring forth the conditions for a political resolution to the war.

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced the award of $202,000 to the Chicago Horticultural Society, which operates the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, to conserve, digitize, and disseminate rare and fragile horticultural records. The grant was awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).

Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) will host a "Congress on Your Corner" event to answer questions from constituents and brief attendees on his work in Washington on Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at Libertyville High School and is open to the public.

This will be Schneider's 21st Congress on Your Corner town hall event since taking office in January 2017.

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced his Lincolnshire Office will serve as a community drop-off location during the April 2018 Help USA Troops collection drive. Help USA Troops is an Arlington Heights–based non-profit that ships boxes of care and comfort items to service members deployed around the world.

Constituents may drop-off items for care packages to American servicemembers beginning today, Monday, April 2, 2018 until Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Today, a bipartisan proposal focused on improving school safety introduced by U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL) and Mike Bost (R-IL) was signed into law by President Donald Trump.

The legislation will help schools acquire panic buttons for classrooms, offering a more immediate method of notifying law enforcement and first responders in case of a medical emergency, active school shooter incident, or natural disaster.
