This week, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) led a bipartisan group of 56 Members of Congress urging robust funding for joint U.S.-Israel counter-tunnel defense efforts.

In a letter to the Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on Defense, Schneider and the other signers request continued funding the vital program, and thank the Subcommittee's leadership for including $47.5 million in the FY 2018 Defense Appropriations Bill.

Today, a bipartisan proposal focused on improving school safety introduced by U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL) and Mike Bost (R-IL) passed the House of Representatives.

In January, Schneider and Bost introduced legislation, H.R. 4811, the Securing Our Schools Act, to help schools acquire panic buttons, offering a more immediate method of notifying law enforcement and first responders in case of a medical emergency, active school shooter incident, or natural disaster.

Congressman Brad Schneider today announced an upcoming Military Service Academy Information Session in Wheeling for high school students and their families.

Attendees will hear from representatives from each of the five service academies – the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy (West Point), and U.S. Naval Academy – who will speak about their institution and discuss the application and nomination processes.

"As public leaders and elected officials, we have a moral responsibility to call out and condemn all who promote hatred and division, no matter who they are. We must send a clear message that those who traffic in bigotry, intolerance, and racism, such as Farrakhan, have no place in our national discourse."

Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) will host a "Congress on Your Corner" event to answer questions from constituents and brief attendees on his work in Washington on Saturday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. The event will be held at the Village Hall in Glencoe and is open to the public.

This will be Schneider's 20th Congress on Your Corner town hall event since taking office in January 2017.
