With the holiday season officially upon us, I wish you and your loved ones a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a uniquely American tradition that brings everyone together to celebrate the blessings and opportunities we have in this nation.

As we continue to rebuild from the pandemic, I remain thankful for the ongoing dedication and heroism of our frontline healthcare workers, our local police and firefighters, the public works employees and teachers, and all the other critical workers helping us beat back COVID and restore our communities and our nation to health.

By now you probably know that on Friday night, at 11:24 pm to be more precise, Congress passed the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a once-in-a-generation investment to rebuild, and in many ways, reimagine, our nation's base infrastructure. Key aspects of the bipartisan bill include repairing crumbling roads and bridges, expanding public transport, building electric vehicle charging stations around the country, modernizing airports, bringing broadband access to every American home and replacing lead pipes in our communities.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL – Today, U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (IL-10), launched the "Holiday Cards for Heroes" program for the 2021 holiday season. He also announced the opening of his annual competition to design his office's holiday card.

For the "Holiday Cards for Heroes" program, Tenth District constituents are invited to drop off holiday cards for military servicemembers at Congressman Schneider's District Office in Lincolnshire through Tuesday, December 14. Please do not put the cards in sealed envelopes.

The big news last week was the announcement of a compromise agreement between the House, Senate and Administration on a $1.75 billion national investment in our young people, our seniors and our communities. The agreed-to framework will be the largest investment ever in addressing climate change, and continues our efforts to ensure every American has quality, affordable healthcare. Ultimately, this bill will be a middle- and working-class tax cut that will get America back to work and help secure our children's future.

WASHINGTON – Today, during National Veterans Small Business Week, the House overwhelmingly passed in a 418-2 vote the bipartisan Veteran Entrepreneurship Training Act of 2021, introduced by Congressmen Brad Schneider (IL-10) and Roger Williams (TX-25).
