Today, two amendments offered by Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) were included in H.R. 6237 – Matthew Young Pollard Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Years 2018 and 2019.
The first Schneider Amendment expands a new public election security report from the intelligence community to require a list of foreign state or foreign nonstate actors involved in the threats to election campaigns for Federal offices. The amendment will help inform the public of those responsible for election interference.

While President Donald Trump breaks ground at the Foxconn project in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (D-IL-10) today urged the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to increase their oversight of the Foxconn project to prevent increased flooding in Lake County, Illinois. The State of Wisconsin has allowed Foxconn to fill in up to 26 acres of wetlands, which would lead to a higher volume of water in the Des Plaines River Watershed and the potential for more flooding downstream in Lake County.
