Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced the introduction of new legislation to make Congress more accountable and transparent to the American people.
H.R.6640, the Prohibiting Perks and Privileges Act would prevent former Members of Congress who become lobbyists from abusing their congressional privileges, would strengthen transparency requirements surrounding financial disclosure data, and make other changes to promote responsible use of taxpayer-funded travel.
Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) will host a Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Waukeagn to help connect Tenth District residents with health resources available in our community. Participating organizations will offer free immunizations, health screenings, cooking demonstrations, and more on a range of health-related topics.

This week, the House of Representatives passed the finalized H.R. 5515, National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019, by a vote of 359-54. Two amendments authored by Congressman Brad Schneider (D-IL) to support small business research and hold Iran accountable were included in the legislation.
Today, Congressman Schneider led all 18 House members of the Illinois congressional delegation in a letter urging federal action to improve the state's election security. In a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristjen Nielsen, the Members requested a briefing on federal efforts to partner with Illinois election officials to defend against foreign interference.
