Today, Congressman Brad Schneider announced new legislation to encourage investment in early-stage tech companies and spur innovation. The bipartisan bill was introduced with Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO).

H.R. 4175, the Invest in Innovative Small Businesses Act, would create a tax credit for investing in early-stage startups operating in a high-technology field during the pre-revenue stage. Examples include advanced materials, precision manufacturing, biotechnology, clean energy, medical sciences, and many more.

Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced four upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment events through Illinois's Tenth Congressional District.

Hosted in partnership with the Illinois Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and North Shore Senior Center, these events are intended to assist area seniors better understand their Medicare options, and help as they compare and select the best Medicare Part D plan for them. This year's Medicare Open Enrollment period began on October 15 and ends on December 7, 2017.

Today, U.S. Representative Brad Schneider (D-IL) praised the passage of new sanctions on Iran's ballistic missiles program, as well as legislation that will limit the ability of Iran's proxy, Hizballah, to finance terror and recruit followers.

Amendments offered by Schneider during markups of the House Foreign Affairs Committee were included in two of these bills.

A bipartisan amendment to help research-focused small businesses introduced by U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (D-IL) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) was recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives as part of H.R. 2763 – The Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Improvements Act of 2017.
