Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced four upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment events through Illinois's Tenth Congressional District.
Hosted in partnership with the Illinois Senior Health Insurance Program (SHIP) and North Shore Senior Center, these events are intended to assist area seniors better understand their Medicare options, and help as they compare and select the best Medicare Part D plan for them. This year's Medicare Open Enrollment period begins today, October 15 and ends on December 7, 2019.
U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider (IL-10), Jason Crow (CO-06), and Jim Hagedorn (MN-01), and today introduced the bipartisan H. Res. 677, "Supporting the goals and ideals of National Veterans Small Business Week." This resolution supports the Small Business Administration and its programs that support veterans who start and own small businesses. Programs include funding for veteran-owned small businesses, training for veteran entrepreneurship, and support for veteran contracting.

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.
This week, the House Committee on Education and Labor marked up the College Affordability Act, which will reauthorize the Higher Education Act. Included within this legislation was the Teachers Are Leaders Act (HR 3108), a bipartisan bill introduced by Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) to expand professional development opportunities for teachers.
This Veterans Day weekend, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) will host a Veterans Breakfast on Friday, November 8, 2019 at College of Lake County to honor those in our community who served our country. Schneider will also share some of the ways his office and local veteran organizations can be of assistance, and update attendees on legislation affecting veterans.

Yesterday, the U.S. House Committee on Ways & Means marked up H.R. 3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act, and incorporated health legislation first introduced by Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10).
